Type-II Hypersensitivity /Cytotoxic Hypersensitivity
is immediate antibody mediated hypersensitivity where damage of cell occurs by
binding of antigens on cell surface with the help of IgG and IgM.
A. Antibody
and Compliment mediated:
1. Autoimmune
haemolytic anaemia
2. Autoimmune
thrombocytopenic purpura
3. Autoimmune
agranulocytosis
4. Blood
transfusion reaction
5. Drug
reaction-chlorpromazine,penicillin,phenacetin,amidopyrine,quinine etc
6. Erythroblastosis fetalis
7. Goodpasture
syndrome
8. Pernicious
anaemia
9. Rheumatic
fever
10. Systemic
lupus erythematosus
11. Vasculitis
B.Antibody
dependent cellular/cell mediated cytotoxicity:
1. Graft
rejection
2. Lysis of
parasites
3. Lysis of
tumor cells
C. Antibody
mediated/dependent cellular dysfunction:
1. Insulin
resistance Diabetes Mellitus
2. Graves diseases
3. Myasthenia
gravis
